"I don’t gravitate towards the “dating a best friend’s sibling” trope all the time; it has to be something I’m specifically interested in reading at the moment and I was really curious about this book based on the synopsis. <br/><br/>In general, I thought this story was cute and a straightforward read with no spice (closed door). My favorite parts were any scenes involving Levi. He seems like such an adorable kid and it was really heartwarming. <br/><br/>Overall, Cooper and Lucy were fine together. I thought they had decent chemistry and generally found them fun. I also appreciated that they were good communicators and there was no miscommunication breakup but I do think the ending was more rushed than it needed to be. Also, for this being a “dating a best friend’s sibling” trope, I wanted to see more of that conflict, especially during the part of the novel that was supposed to be the big confrontation. It felt a little underwhelming, especially given the build up. <br/><br/>I found myself a bigger fan of Cooper than Lucy. I thought Cooper was caring and considerate. Lucy was a little cringey with the way she just blurted out unnecessary or the most random things and gave me second-hand embarrassment. I’ve noticed that this is a trend in Sarah Adams novels where the man is always super hot, smooth, but still a giant cinnamon roll while the woman is usually super quirky but doesn’t realize she’s hot. Now that I know the formula, it’s gotten easier to read some of these books, and I will continue to read Sarah Adams novels because I always find the concept adorable but I can see this not being for everyone."
