"A poetic film with a black gay lead. I really liked the concept of this film although it was confusing and hard to follow at times yet still I gotta give props to the cinematography because it was masterfully shot and touched on subjects of sexuality and racial justice in a respectful way. It’s not a perfect film by any means but definitely worth a watch. "
"From what I remember, the movie says so much that it effectively says nothing at all. The movie chews on an assortment of related themes, but in the end the result is a nothing mush that leaves the viewer dissatisfied. The Groundhog Day trope felt forced in some redos, as if fate herself had it out for the protagonist Tunde. However, the relationship between Tunde and his secret boyfriend, Soren, was heartfelt, and the film could have focused more on that aspect. There were beautiful scenes that saved the otherwise repetitive tone that curses this trope. Overall, I wouldn’t watch twice. Not that it was horrifically bad, but I know there’s not much to take away from a piece that clearly wants you to think. "
