A shooting lays bare the secrets harbored by five families in a sleepy suburban cul-de-sac in this riveting psychological thriller from the New York Times bestselling author of All the Wrong Places.“Cul-de-sac proves once again that Joy Fielding is an ingenious master of domestic suspense.”—Samantha M. Bailey, USA Today and #1 national bestselling author of Woman on the EdgeSomeone on this quiet, unassuming cul-de-sac will be shot dead in the middle of a sultry July night. Will it be Maggie, the perfectionist wife, or Craig, the husband who can’t quite live up to her expectations? They’ve packed up their two children and fled their life in California, hoping for a fresh start in Florida, only to find the demons of the past hovering on their doorstep.Maybe it will be Nick, a highly respected oncologist, or his wife, Dani, a successful dentist, both with well-kept secrets of their own.Or perhaps the victim will be Julia, an elderly widow, whose troubled grandson has recently moved in with her, introducing unsavory habits and even more unsavory acquaintances into her formerly quiet existence. Then there’s Olivia and her husband, Sean. Having lost his job at a prestigious advertising agency, Sean is depressed, resentful of his working wife, and drinking heavily. He is also prone to increasingly violent fantasies. And what of the newlyweds, Aiden and Heidi, whose marriage is already on the rocks, due to Aiden’s reluctance to stand up to his intrusive mother? Matters aren’t helped when Heidi befriends Julia’s grandson, setting the stage for a major blowup.A diverse group of neighbors, to be sure. Yet all harbor secrets. All bear scars. And all have access to guns. Not all will survive the night.

"Kept me guessing what the end would be. I do think it was one of the more obvious endings and something else would have been cool, or at least for someone else to be the "culprit," but it made sense and I guess it was the only way to end it. A great book, impossible to put down. A real domestic thriller indeed."
"Sometimes a novel with this many POV’s can get a bit confusing. You get a little mixed up with all the details and at times, characters can be hard to differentiate. But because each character was so well developed and so glaringly different from the last, each one just added layers and more substance to the story. I found the story to be phenomenal and the final outcome was exactly what I’d hoped for."
"Started off strong, middle was hard to get through, and then came together again in the end. I didn’t like the characters and just found them hard to relate to. Found I kept rereading pages trying to make sense of what was happening. Would be better as an audiobook I think."

"This book some time to getting into, but picked it towards the end. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me wanting a little more. It definitely makes you think about your neighbors. This is the first book I have read by Liz Crowe, and I look forward to reading more.

I received a free copy of this book via AuthorsXP and am voluntarily leaving a review."
"3.5/5 stars

TRIGGER WARNING: If you are sensitive to topics about guns, spousal abuse/rape, talks about suicide/murder then you may not want to read this book!

I had a blind date with this book from my local library. I will honestly say that I probably never would have picked this up on my own to read...

With that being said, I was surprised with this one! I finished this book in a couple of days. It was very easy to follow along and get into the minds of the characters. Although, I will say that some of the characters were very cliche and unspectacular. However, I did find myself really connecting with the main character Maggie. Despite her "flaws," she seems so full of compassion and I found it quite endearing to read her part in the story.

If you're into books that are domestic thriller/mysteries then you may want to pick this one up. I had a fun time throughout the entire book!"
