"This is a MUST READ. It's a field guide. It's a survival guide. It's an exposé on stress, culture, and what it means to thrive in the midst. I did an MA in Counseling and got my degree in Spiritual Formation yet I learned more about self care from this book than I did in 4+ years of graduate school studying the topic. I'm recommending it to everyone. Repeatedly.

The audio book is read by the authors and it's a blast. The writing style is direct, conversational, and to the point, making it an easy, fast read that is no less life changing for its brevity. I simply can't say enough good things about this book. Read it. Now."
"Specifically dealing with burnout from a feministic perspective (which is fine and needs to be told), however the title should have mentioned this IMO.

As a male, I cannot speak as to the accuracy of the findings. There were a lot of citations and research provided - however there also seemed as if the authors had a specific perspective and they were providing research that would prove their points of view (ie. it did honestly feel as though it was not from an objective perspective).

The book had a great way of summarizing the key thoughts at the end of each chapter - which allows the reader to come back to it and see quickly if they might want to reread.

I also particularly enjoyed the fact that I was able to gain a female perspective on burnout which allowed my mind to broaden and understand another perspective. There were some aha moments in the book though I have to admit I cannot remember them off hand now that I am writing this review (sorry!)."

"I thought this would be another generic self-help book, but I'm glad it was more than that and dove into science and history to support their ideas. I loved several chapters/sections of this book. There were several quotes I marked, especially in the chapter about body image. I wished there had been more specific examples instead of two women's overall stories. I feel like I would have retained things better if there had been."
"Fun, funny, compassionate, and informative. This book should be required reading, and not only for women! "
