"I’m officially obsessed with Robo!! He definitely makes my list of favorite fictional dogs, and is further fueling my love of the animal. Not that I needed more encouragement, seeing as how my dream job was to become a vet.

Speaking of which, I loved the addition of Cole as a POV character! Apparently the author’s partner is a vet, so it makes perfect sense for how well informed the details are. It tied in perfectly with the K-9 focus, and I found all of it extremely believable.

Really though, Matti is the star. She’s the quintessential tough female cop who overcame her childhood, but the story never veers toward cliche. I enjoyed the investigation and her role in it, as well as her faith in Robo.

As for the mystery, even though I did guess the killer, I loved the procedural rhythm and eventual conclusion. I would definitely return to this Colorado based series and recommend to any crime fan!"

"I enjoyed the interaction between Maddie and her K-9 partner. The mystery of the case she was working pulled me in right from the start, and I liked how the author unfolded the details in a realistic way and timeline. I also thought the chemistry between Maddie and Cole was believable and set things up well for the next story in the series. Looking forward to the next installment. "
