"STACY!!! Excuse me? WTF??? My heart man! I need it back! When you live your entire existence focused on surviving, being chosen as the next sacrifice for the Ledge can seem like the long awaited respite from a life of suffering. But no, not for Dawsyn, a strong badass who will cut you down before you blink. A beacon of hope for Ryon’s plan, and a wrench in the plans of some royalty. Oh I’m mad I’m so mad I’m so mad! I was captivated and enthralled by this twosome I’d never ending quips and snide remarks and never ending resolve; towards each other, their goal, their people. The second book is not coming out fast enough for my liking. Happy freaking reading, ugh. "
"I did not realize how much I missed gritty fantasy until I had Ledge in my hands. The writing style was un-put-downable, and the world building was cold and bloody. It made me want to curl up in a blanket in a safe place. After watching Stacey's videos, I wanted to put my trust in her. She seemed to pick out the silly tropes we all get tired of, and I was hoping to read a book without them. Stacey did not disappoint. What I wasn't ready for was the seriousness in which she wrote this story.
Like I said, watching her videos and the constant hilarity of her skits, I was not ready for all the grit, but I loved everything second of it. Reading a ton of books a year makes it difficult to suprise me, so bravo. Dawsyn, our mc was an absolute badass. She was blunt, a raging storm, someone who did not mince words. Ryon was very much a mystery I wanted to solve and omg so handsome.
The slow burn was torturous and sweet. I could feel the anguish and sorrow in this world. With Dawsyns unabashed behavior, it was like watching a man trying to kiss a little mountain cat and not get his eyes scratched out in the process, haha. They felt destined for each other. Two against the world. And can I just say I love all the camping and snuggling.
Yaaaas found family trope. While it was mostly the two main characters trying to survive, the found family was a sooth to the burn. I'm not sure I can say anything bad about this story. It didn't give me everything, but I'm okay with that because it is leaving intrigue for the rest of the seires, but neither did it leave out too much. The character arcs were perfect. The world building was like a movie in my head.
AGAIN, Stacy's writing style! I can't tell you what a breath of fresh air it was. With a debut novel, she already understands how to trust her readers by not overly stating things and just letting us figure it out."
"This book BLEW me away. I was NOT expecting this vast turn of events. Obviously I love Dawsyn and the pure sass. This originally sounded like a periless book of great demise, to my surprise it was quite more exciting. This is my fourth book of this year which I'll rate this highly, my overall rating is a VERY strong 5/5. <br/><br/>TikTok: @wvbookwitch<br/>Blog: http://wvbookwitch.blogspot.com/"
"Definitely needs deeper character personalities"

"***This is a review of an ARC sample from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***<br/><br/>So I was honestly taken aback by how much this story intrigued me. Whereas the synopsis drew me in, I expected little from just the first two chapters. But already we get a grand description of the world and its unfairness and I am even starting to get to know Dawsyn as a character. Even with the brief moment of sensuality that was in the second chapter, I already felt this sense of longing and loneliness that Dawsyn had. As with Dawsyn, I wonder how exactly their world works and why does something as foreboding as the Selection have to exist? How exactly did the Ledge come to be and how did the village that Dawsyn resides in come to be? I am excited to pick this up, for I am very glad to have potentially found a fantasy series that seems to borrow from classic dystopian ideas."
"3.75 / 5. <br/>The story is intriguing (4 stars). <br/>A few world building things dropped it down a bit (3.5). <br/>FMC is axe-wielding? (3.75)<br/><br/>Knowing this is a trilogy, I’m expecting some other weak spots to resolve themselves as these characters develop. <br/><br/>I enjoyed this and I’m hoping the 2nd book will be even better!<br/><br/>"
