"I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. This book is definitely all plot with very little spice. The author did a WONDERFUL job at keeping you guessing until literally the very last page. The plot twists start at the very beginning of this book and I thoroughly enjoyed them all. KJ Sutton kept me on the edge of the seat all 298 pages. I am hoping the following 3 books will have more to divulge on our little nightmare. I really loved how she created an FMC so unique. In the many Fae books I’ve read, not once did someone embody nightmare as a character and I was fascinated by that.
My rating is definitely closer to a 4 than a 3 but not entirely there. See as much as I enjoyed it, I just kept being reminded of ACOTAR themes. Enemies to lovers, a forced marriage, a girl willing to sacrifice herself entirely for the people she loves, losing herself entirely in the process without knowing, and ultimately being responsible for the future of an entire kingdom she never really cared about. But I mean, compassion am I right?
Definitely looking forward to the next installments to see what’s next! "
