Two brothers bound by more than blood fight to change a brutal destiny in this novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Sold by his parents to the Queen of the s’Hisbe as a child, Trez escaped the Territory and has been a pimp and an enforcer for years. On the run from a destiny of sexual servitude, he’s never been able to rely on anyone...except for his brother, iAm. iAm’s sole goal has always been to keep his brother from self-destructing—and he knows he’s failed. It’s not until the Chosen Selena enters Trez’s life that the male begins to turn things around...but by then, it’s too late. The pledge to mate the Queen’s daughter comes due, and there is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, and no negotiating. Now Trez must decide whether to endanger himself and others—or abandon the female he loves. When tragedy strikes and changes everything, iAm, in the name of brotherly love, is faced with making the ultimate sacrifice...

"Not much to say about this seires after book 5. They have all turned into a disgustingly sweet happily ever after re-run. So why am I reading. I honestly don't know. Once in a blue moon their will be a couple I somewhat care about and I really love the brothers banter and comraderie. Hint the words brothers because even though their are two fighting females they don't get included.

And with the happily ever after there is no fear in losing someone and if you do they will just be reincarnated or someone other hottie you don't want but do want at the time will be considerate of your past love...... ugh. All I'm saying is who you going to hang out with in the Fade? You going to have one on each arm?

Anyway off topic. I did not care for Trez and whats-her-face relationship. Trez was very hot and cold. I would have just walked away from that trash especially since you dont have time to fool around. I seriously only cared about Xcor and Layla and Rhage of course. Just meh.

Oh also why does the females never have the haunted past. Just saying. Seems like this review turned into a ramble."
"On the fence

I keep saying that I won't read the next brotherhood book. Of course I didn't make it long before I read this. I skimmed the first half quite a bit as Ward has gotten very long winded in these books. While I only truly read the last portion, I can't decide if I continue or not. It seems that this is how it goes for the Brotherhood books now. Skip, skip, read this section, skip, skip, don't care about that guy, skip, read this section and so on. I mean, we only have 37 POVs per book. Or at least it seems that way.

This was sad and all those who have already read it know this one is not like the others. It wasn't hard to guess that it was coming. I wish I could say I was sad, but meh. Oh well. That's about all the emotion I was able to scrounge up for that part.

The part I'm glad I actually read? The scene with Lucas, or whatever weird spelling of his name. He's been damaged in the raids and he's going on about how much he wants to die (I agree, he deserves to be angry) and he gets his world turned upside down when someone else would take his spot if they could. But we don't get to see if it snaps him out of it.

The only thing that seemed out of place was Hollywood I don't know what was up with this dude. I don't know if there will be more on this later or if it was a set up to have the next book on him again. Whatever it is, I'm a bit over the weird stuff just tossed in."
"Even though I love J.R. Ward this one was just ok for me. I was actually more interested in i'Am and Rhages story than Trez. I found myself skimming through Assail's chapters also. I have no clue where that storyline is going.

Even though this was a miss for me I'm very much looking forward to Rhage's next book and Paradise!"
