This sweet, enemies-to-lovers debut rom-com filled with Chinese astrology will undoubtedly prove to be a perfect match with readers of Helen Hoang, Jasmine Guillory, and Sarah Adams. Always a matchmaker, never a match... Olivia Huang Christenson is excited-slash-terrified to be taking over her grandmother’s matchmaking business. But when she learns that a new dating app has made her Pó Po’s traditional Chinese zodiac approach all about “animal attraction,” her emotions skew more toward furious-slash-outraged. Especially when L.A.’s most-eligible bachelor Bennett O’Brien is behind the app that could destroy her family’s legacy . . . Liv knows better than to fall for any guy, let alone an infuriatingly handsome one who believes that traditions are meant to be broken. As the two businesses go head to head, Bennett and Liv make a deal: they’ll find a match for each other—and whoever falls in love loses. But Liv is dealing with someone who’s already adept at stealing business ideas . . . so what’s stopping him from stealing her heart too?

"For whatever reason, get past page 40 and it is a super cute read. "

"This book was recommended to me as a lunar new year read. I rarely get to read books that focus around other topics while also incorporating effects of change on cultures and multigenerational traditions. "

"I really enjoyed the cultural aspects of the story--I would've loved hearing even more about traditions and ceremonies. I felt Bennett was lacking personality in the beginning but he grew on me by the end.<br/><br/>Olivia on the other hand I couldn't stand. She was stubborn and narrow-minded, acting like she owned the zodiac and was the only one who truly understood it. After the Halloween party Bennett should've left Olivia behind until she got some therapy."
"<br/>"When two people find each other and connect...it's an inexplicable kind of magic"<br/><br/>A quick, heartfelt read. The beginning was a little slow for me, but once I was a few chapters in I was engaged in Olivia’s scheming and Bennet’s puppy-like sincerity. <br/><br/>While I appreciate all of the traditions and culture that are interwoven throughout the story - Olivia’s repetitiveness that matches HAD to be compatible to work grew tiresome after a while.<br/><br/>The book was largely predictable, but I find that comforting with romance novels. There was one major twist towards the end of the book that I was not expecting, but I enjoyed the direction it took the story in.<br/><br/>Overall this was a cozy romance read. There wasn’t anything over the top spectacular about it, but it was still entertaining and enjoyable. <br/><br/>I wouldn’t recommend this to everyone but I would recommend it to anyone looking for:<br/><br/>"
