“Swoony and spooky.”—NPRLove brings down the haunted house in this captivating romance from the acclaimed author of The Romantic Agenda. Lucky Hart has a special affinity for the supernatural but almost no one takes parapsychology seriously. She’s estranged from her family, lost her friends, and has been rejected from graduate school. Twice. But her big break finally arrives when she gets insider info about a troubled production company. Every actor on their new show mysteriously quits after spending three nights inside Hennessee House, an old Victorian with a notorious reputation. After scheming her way onto the show to investigate, Lucky meets Maverick Phillips and chemistry instantly crackles between them. He tempts her in ways no one ever has, challenging and supporting her, and making her finally feel seen. Their connection is so palpable everyone notices it–including Hennesee House. Now Lucky and Maverick’s relationship has a challenger: the lonely, sentient house desperate for her undivided attention. As love begins to clash with career, Lucky refuses to choose one over the other because everyone deserves a happily ever after, even houses with haunted hearts. But when all her plans begin backfiring one-by-one, she realizes that if she wants to have it all? She'll have to risk everything.

"I adore everything about this book! It has plot and a great romance. Found family. Single dad who is the sweetest most caring man alive. I usually hate kids in romance book but Rebel was perfect. She felt like a kid but she wasn’t annoying at all! A little bit of female friendship that felt very realistic and supportive. I love that she there was no explicit spice but it also didn’t pretend that adult business doesn’t happen in an adult relationship! Great asexual rep. It made me realize how little I actually know about asexuality. Lots of haunted house content but it didn’t get very spooky at all. Very cozy, especially by the end. It’s an amazing end of summer early fall read! "

"Based on the title, I thought “Looking for Love in All the Haunted Places” would be more of a romance novel, and while there is some romance, this was more of a cozy mystery novel. The concept of the story had so much potential - a sentient house, a girl with ESP, but the execution was not for me. I felt that the plot with the haunted house investigation was slower than I would have liked, the romance was confusing/inconsistent, and the representation of ESP was a little too nuanced for me. The display of ESP being difficult to explain/see/feel makes sense logically, but as a reader it was hard for me to get on board with it because I couldn’t relate to it or understand it.

While this wasn’t my favorite, I think if you like cozy mysteries or are looking for a fall/Halloween read, then this could be for you!"
