"I give this book a 3.5. It was enjoyable, but there was more focus on the witchcraft and romance than on Catherine de Medici, whom I was more interested in than the daughters of the earth.

It is an easy read, but know what you are getting into when you read it. Expect fantasy and romance more than HF and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Personally, I found some of the romantic lines a little on the cheesy side, but overall an easy, fun read."

"I really liked this book. I'm not a historical romance fan and it did read a little like that but I found it interesting as just a fiction book mingled with the speculations about Catherine de Medici, the Queen everyone thought was a witch. The characters were likeable...so I'm on the next in the series (The Courtesan)."
