John Grisham
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • John Grisham has a new hero ... and she’s full of surprises. The year is 2008 and Samantha Kofer’s career at a huge Wall Street law firm is on the fast track—until the recession hits and she is downsized, furloughed, and escorted out of the building. Samantha, though, is offered an opportunity to work at a legal aid clinic for one year without pay, all for a slim chance of getting rehired. In a matter of days Samantha moves from Manhattan to Brady, Virginia, population 2,200, in the heart of Appalachia, a part of the world she has only read about. Samantha’s new job takes her into the murky and dangerous world of coal mining, where laws are often broken, communities are divided, and the land itself is under attack. But some of the locals aren’t so thrilled to have a big-city lawyer in town, and within weeks Samantha is engulfed in litigation that turns deadly. Because like most small towns, Brady harbors big secrets that some will kill to conceal.Don’t miss John Grisham’s new book, THE EXCHANGE: AFTER THE FIRM!

"Right now I'm ready The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. I just recently started it but so far it's good. What about you?"

"I really enjoyed reading this. I found the story intriguing, pulling me along, stealing page after page, and cheaper after chapter. I enjoyed being lost somewhere other than Ford county with the typical cast. If you’re a Grisham fan and haven’t read this one, I would definitely recommend it."

"<strong>a decent read</strong><br/><br/>This was a typical Grisham story but with less of a climax than normal. There was no real suspense other than when/if the pseudo hero would use her connections."

"Started off very strongly and in the end, nothing gets resolved. We've been reading John Grisham novels for nearly 25 years now and this one was more "The Client" and less "The Pelican Brief" if you know what I mean. I don't know whether he is looking to start a series with the lead character but the last 1/3 of the book fell very flat for me."
"A good read. A little sad at the end. But will say, for me it did get a little slow in the middle of the book but it gets better A little sad at the end "
