"I loved the dual POV’s but one of the characters was dramatic at times when it was so unnecessary. I think this book is best fit for young teens (13 ish). 3/5 stars. "

"I got to page 100 on this book and then I gave up on it. To me it wasn’t seeming to go anywhere, but I’m also not super into the generes this is in, so if someone’s into history, mystery, and contemporary fiction, then this would be the book for you. "

"Written by Jordyn Taylor, The Paper Girl of Paris is a historical fiction romance that goes back and forth between the rebellious Adalyn living in Nazi occupied Paris, and her grandniece Alice, the teen given the family’s abandoned apartment having no idea it existed. I loved this book since I enjoy dual perspective and historical fiction books. More interesting was Adalyn’s time since she was working as a spy for a resistance movement against Hitler’s regime. At the same age, Alice finds Adalyn’s diary hidden with cryptic messages, making her believe that her grandaunt supported the Nazi’s, causing the audience to yell at her for being incorrect. My favorite character was Adalyn until the very end, when Luc became my favorite because of how devoted he was to her, even after all they went through. Taylor’s writing was well paced, making the reader feel the years going by as you read. I definitely cried multiple times at the end of the book, but for how somber the message was in it, I found it difficult to connect to their emotions until that point. My main issue with the book is its portrayal of mental health, which could have been better verbalized and used different imagery to show the difficulties Alice’s mom was facing. The Paper Girl of Paris was a page turner of a book that went between different time periods, emotions, and struggles to bring together two women that never knew each other. Overall, the book was a 7.8/10, and I would recommend it to those looking for a romantic historical fiction, or people who like dual perspectives."
"This was one of the best books I’ve ever read I kid you not. I love to talk about this book all the time with my friends and beg them to read it. I cried two days in a row reading this book. It was so interesting and devastating towards the end. If you’re interested in the French Resistance of WWII, you’ll love this book. Awesome mix of romance and historical fiction."
"I have a particular interest and fascination in WWII, Taylor combined this perfectly with a modern style and a little romance. This was the perfect quick read to get me out of a slump, and I enjoyed every minute of it. It has a unique style, bouncing between two parts of the story which was confusing at first, but built up amazing anticipation and excitement. I HIGHLY recommend this book. 10/10"
