*A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Eurydice and Orpheus and Charon.* Eurydice Dimitriou has always been the innocent one, the sheltered one. No longer. She's finally ready to step out of the long shadow cast by her mother and sisters. After her ex broke her heart, she's picking up the pieces in the lower city...with the help of Charon, a man she's drawn to even as she's not sure she has enough heart left to give. Charon Ariti has been Hades's right-hand man for years. He's given everything to the lower city, but now he's ready to take something for himself. Even knowing it might be a mistake, he's drawn to Eurydice's hidden strength, and her determination to keep moving forward. He's only too happy to give her a special kind of education...at least until her ex comes calling. Orpheus Makos will do whatever it takes to make things right. Once the golden boy of the upper city, he's now lost everything. His art, his fortune, his fame? They're nothing compared to the love he can't stop thinking about. He'll do anything to get her back...even if it means she's not coming into his arms alone. But with enemies slipping through Olympus's faltering barrier into the lower city in increasing numbers, a trio of broken hearts will be the least of these lovers' worries... "This book was good, but I don't feel like it did much for the series as a whole. Not a ton happened, so the plot didn't move forward much, and it felt like filler more than anything. I was hoping this one would be more politics/plot heavy, like the last one was, but it just really wasn't. The romance was good, but parts of it felt underdeveloped. While I enjoyed Orpheus and Eurydice’s second chance romance I sort of wish there had been more groveling involved. I loved Eurydice and Charon’s friends to lovers dynamic so much! Orpheus and Charon's relationship was a bit insta-lovey, but it was still sweet. All of them were really great together! The ending felt a bit rushed, but I still enjoyed it! Very spicy!"
"4.5 stars - Without fail my favorite books by Katee Robert all feature relationships with more than 2 people. The dynamics in Midnight Ruin were exquisite - especially between Charon and Orpheus. I don’t think the puppy play was really for me, I didn’t love those scenes, but everything else was great! The spicy scenes were some of my favorite since Wicked Beauty and the emotional growth for all the characters was well handled. I loved getting to see a deeper side of Orpheus, a stronger side of Eurydice, and a softer side of Charon. And the cliff hanger ending was genius. I’m not so patiently waiting for the next book.

Thank you to Edelweiss for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review."

"This book was poorly edited including quite a few typos. Also the ending did not feel like there was any sense of closure. "

"...listen this one didn't work for me well. The coupling of Charon and Euridyce has been hovering since the beginning and yes I do think she has unhandled feelings for Orpheus, but the way the relationship with all three characters happens doesn't make much sense to me.... I may retry this one later but for now I am not rating this and moving on."
"This was okay, the first 60 percent was more **** and romance and the plot came towards the end of the book. This a polyamorous relationship and tbh they seem solid so I hope they last lol. I feel like their relationship was a bit rushed especially but they were cute. I am very interested in the Olympus plot so I was disappointed after the last book that we didn't get much movement in the plot. There were some reveals but I guess ill have to keep reading the rest of the series to get more plot movement. Overall an okay read but not my favorite in the series."
