"3.5 star.

This cover drew me in, not gonna lie. I really liked the protagonist Rosalyn. I thought her a very genuine, no nonsense person which made her very relatable. Even with Rosalyn's picture on the front I was a bit annoyed that we didn't get much of a description of her till ninety pages in because from what little I did gather I didn't think it was Rosalyn on the cover.

The story was interesting, it towed the fine line of withholding enough information to want more without becoming boring. Still the dialog at times became haulting and disingenuous. Often I had to reread a passage because the authors intentions were unclear. Also I thought the crews memories did not add much to the story or their arcs.

Even so Rosalyn's character, the mystery, and the background romance kept me going. The romance was so slight and interesting it had me wanting more and more. Often that is horrible for a reader but it helps with imagination in the long run. The way the Captian kept coming back to himself for her was so lovely and emotional to see.

The ending was drawn out for me. It did cut off pretty abruptly and the outcome was underwhelming. After the twist the alien lifeform was not explained thoroughly."
