Hercule Poirot's Christmas

"I don't usually love mystery books, but this one was a pleasant surprise! It was really good! Very quick, easy read! I definitely didn't see the plot twist at the end coming! This was a very fun, Christmas mystery! 10/10 would recommend!"

"Queen of Mystery is quite right. I guess I will never guess the murder. Which is a good thing. Agatha's stories are so difficult to solve that I end up just picking someone hoping with some luck I'll be right in the end.<br/><br/>Mostly though I was disappointed because yet again there is a Christmas story with a big lack of the holiday season. No festivities, no warmth, or traditions. The only thing mentioned was having the family together for the holidays with no description of decor or puddings or even minced pies. That's literally the only reason I read this story because of the title.<br/><br/>It's difficult to keep up with these books sometimes. There always seems be a host of characters. Agatha sets up everyone as a criminal so it's near impossible to guess. Which is amazing meaning you will never solve the case before the ending. That is what I most admire about this Author. Others I have read seem to treat you as a child over explaining things until they give away the secrets entirely.<br/><br/>Iv only read two others by Agatha one being And Then There Were None. I quite enjoyed it. To me it was much more exhilarating because people where dropping like flies and your perceptions changes each time. This story wasn't as such. It seemed to drag and without the holiday fun just came off bland to me."

"Who would have thought murder could be so festive! Another well written mystery by the reigning queen; quite frankly I don’t know if there is anyone writing today that has quite the flair for simple situations that have no easy explanation. Today’s mysteries seem to have so many moving parts and pieces, becoming more thrillers than puzzles, but not Agatha Christie. Locked doors and many motives are her specialty, and this one had me guessing until the end. I’m getting better though; I managed to guess the killer from a single clue, but of course it was nearly towards the end that it came up. Maybe one of these days I’ll put it all together sooner, but she’s still so relevant nearly a century since she started writing because she is just so good."
