"Only read about half of this book then quit. Pros: fairly well written, some diversity in characters, skillful mood building. Cons: too dark and scary for me, would not want my teenage nephew or any teen to read this, also disliked that the female MC has a crush on the male MC even though he treats her like crap most of the first half of the book. "4.5⭐️
This was a wonderful cross between Vicious by VE Schwab and The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. Dark academia, mystery, intrigue, love, loyalty, death. I was obsessed the whole time.

My only only itsy bitsy complaint was that I have a few questions with the end. As in, I would like to know how corporeal and alive everyone is.
But that’s the mystique I suppose !

"
"Pros:

I appreciated the representation for the hearing impaired. It isn’t something I’ve seen in many books let alone young adult books. I think it is something that should be bigger so people like the main character feel less awkward about admitting when they are struggling and get the help they need to succeed.

Cons:

I didn’t enjoy that the main character was consistently being repetitively compared to glass. It made sense the first time then got annoying.

I don’t know what exactly it was about this book but I just didn’t get into it. I liked the concept but the characters were rather flat to me and didn’t make me want to know them."
