From the author of Truth Be Told (formerly titled Are You Sleeping)—now an Apple TV series of the same name—comes “a thriller for the Instagram age” (Amy Gentry, author of Good as Gone) for fans of Jessica Knoll and Caroline Kepnes.Everyone wants new followers…until they follow you home. Audrey Miller has an enviable new job at the Smithsonian, a body by Pilates, an apartment door with a broken lock, and hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers to bear witness to it all. Having just moved to Washington, DC, Audrey busies herself impressing her new boss, interacting with her online fan base, and staving off a creepy upstairs neighbor with the help of the only two people she knows in town: an ex-boyfriend she can’t stay away from, and a sorority sister with a high-powered job and a mysterious past. But Audrey’s faulty door may be the least of her security concerns. Unbeknownst to her, her move has brought her within striking distance of someone who has obsessively followed her social media presence for years—from her first WordPress blog to her most recent Instagram Story. No longer content to simply follow her carefully curated life from a distance, he consults the dark web for advice on how to make Audrey his and his alone. In his quest to win her heart, nothing is off-limits—and nothing is private. Kathleen Barber’s new novel of suspense, hailed as “gripping, chilling” by Robyn Harding, author of The Perfect Family, is an electrifying new thriller that will have you scrambling to cover your webcam and digital footprints.

""News flash: you can't ******* curate other people. You can't just play with us like we're ******* dolls."<br/><br/>3.5⭐<br/><br/>Follow Me was one of my most anticipated 2020 releases! I loved Kathleen Barber's last book, and I was so excited to check this one out. I feel like the first 3/4 of the book were what I was hoping for, but the last portion of the book failed to bring everything together for me. <br/><br/>None of the characters in this book are likeable, which works perfectly fine with the story that is being told. I guess I just expected that there was something deeper going on. This book tapped into several important topics regarding internet presence (oversharing, stalking, consent, etc), but never went anywhere with them. I was hoping for more, and that some loose threads would be tied up. <br/><br/>Although I enjoyed reading the book overall, the ending was not satisfying to me, and it felt silly and lackluster. I think this book had a lot of potential, but I felt disappointed in the end. It was still an entertaining book, though, and I'll be reading whatever Kathleen Barber does next."
"If you're thinking about reading this and need a sign, here it is! I absolutely loved this book, and finished it over a 3 day weekend. The author ties three viewpoints together so wonderfully, I found myself invested in all character's experiences almost equally. And there is absolutely NO way you could guess what's going to happen in the final few pages. Follow Me is an A+ thriller that reveals a dark side to our modern age of social media and oversharing. "
"Very easy read. The alternate first person points of view keep the story moving at a great pace. It's a fun challenge to try to figure out who her stalker is."

"I’m new to Likewise and I not only checked books/movies/tv shows that I have watched or read, I also checked if I wanted to read/watch them at a later date. I definitely want to read this one, sounds great! I have not read anything by the author. How about you? Did you read this book? "
