"It was a decent book but I enjoyed the first one a lot better. It just felt like the misunderstandings between them dragged and there wasn’t much chemistry between them until the last third - most of the book they misjudge each other although Hope did a decent job of trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I did like the Sebastian but he was nowhere near as good as Gideon from the first book (we see him briefly near the end and he is only briefly interacting with the others and yet I immediately remembered his character and why I liked him). It’s a shame because I did really like Sebastian but there wasn’t any real banter between him and Hope like there was in the first book between Gideon and Pru. I liked Hope but sometimes she didn’t seem at all like the character I remembered from book 1.

The side story with Giles and Elinore was interesting - sometimes more than the main romance and I wish we’d seen more of their interactions.

One nice thing is you do get a quick update on the characters from book 1."
