Tessa Dare
Unexpected lovers find themselves together in Spindle Cove with A Week to be Wicked—the second book in Tessa Dare’s utterly delectable historical romance series. This Regency Era delight finds a restless British lord desperate to escape the quaint and too quiet small seaside resort he’s trapped in…and he gets much more than he expected when he eagerly agrees to escort a beautiful, brilliant, socially awkward lady scientist to Scotland. Concerning Tessa Dare and her irresistible romances, bestselling author Julia Quinn is spot on when she says, “Prepare to fall in love!” And anyone who loves the novels of Lisa Kleypas, Christina Dodd, and Liz Carlyle is going to adore having A Week to be Wicked.

"I really liked this book. I like the strong and intelligent female lead and how she helps break down the walls of the male lead. The chemistry between the main characters have been obvious from the beginning and I am really happy that I continued to read (sat on my desk for a month because I was contemplating whether to read or not)."
"Actual: 3.5 stars ✨ <br/><br/>Am I the only one it seems with a (slightly) unpopular opinion. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it for sure, I laughed and chuckled to myself while reading it, there were some significant amounts of steamy bits between Minerva and Colin, but… I just felt that this was an average read in my humble opinion. <br/><br/>Fundamentally for me it was that it all felt a little too insta-lovey for my tastes even though Minerva and Colin had previous history in the other Spindle Cove books from Tessa Dare. I also don’t think that from the history of Colin’s trauma that Minerva would somehow magically be able to heal him in about a week’s time of them travelling together. I know this is slightly unrealistic and most romance novels are (a fantasy) but I really don’t like that someone’s trauma is miraculously healed in a very unrealistic timeline; this also annoyed me in Lisa Kleypas’ [b:Love in the Afternoon|7491418|Love in the Afternoon (The Hathaways, #5)|Lisa Kleypas|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1402012474l/7491418._SY75_.jpg|7366229]. Finally I would have liked more elements of them enjoying Edinburgh together because that was the whole reason for them travelling north together in the first place and potentially ruining her standing in good society. <br/><br/>However, I did like the aspect of the being complete opposites with her being interested in geology"
"One of the best novels in this series. Loved both characters and their banter."

"<strong>My new favorite author </strong><br/><br/>Dare does an incredible job of introducing us to, and peeling back the layers of her characters. Characters I can’t help but love. Including strong female characters who defy societal expectations for the time. <br/>This like the first book in this series surprised me at every turn. She does not follow the common and tired path most romance novels do.<br/>I love how sexy these books are without feeling objectifying."

"This is one of the better stories in Spindle Cove. Not sure if the writing improved or the story but I enjoyed it."
