Meet the Beast before there was Beauty in this sweeping reimagining of the prince’s origin story steeped in Persian mythology.Orasmyn is the prince of Persia and heir to the throne. His religion fills his heart and his mind, and he strives for the knowledge and leadership his father demonstrates. But on the day of the Feast of Sacrifices, Orasmyn makes a foolish choice that results in a fairy’s wretched punishment: he is turned into a beast, a curse to be undone only by the love of a woman. Thus begins Orasmyn’s journey through the exotic Middle East and sensuous France as he struggles to learn the way of the beast, while also preserving the mind of the man. This is the story of his search, not only for a woman courageous enough to love him, but also for his own redemption.

"3.5⭐

Beast is the 4th book in the Six Stories series, and I've enjoyed reading all of them! This one is a little reminiscent of the West Memphis 3 story (at least for part of the book), and I was interested while reading it. This is probably my least favorite of the series so far, but I still liked it, and I can't wait to check out Deity!"
"Aah! Thank God this is over!

Serves me right, though, with my OCD.

I have a thing with books; I rarely leave them unfinished no matter how torturous they are to continue.

Jesus!

The author warned that this was "dark" and maybe I'm a such a messed up person that nothing fazes me anymore, or this book wasn't dark at all or at least not enough to merit a warning.

It also wasn't entertaining,

despite the praises of it from some of my book friends.

The heroine was sooooo boring! Her backstory and development and "conflict" were so ******* snore-worthy.

Jesus Christ. And she didn't wait for long to "fall in love" with her captor.

Um, girl, you do realized that this man kidnapped and is torturing you, right?

At least, wait a few chapters before ogling him and letting us know how "attracted" you are to him...

Both of the protagonists were so dull. Their motivations were seriously lacking as well as their chemistry.

Was gonna give it a one-star but the epilogue deserves a star.

That was nice "twist" at the end, lol, you almost got me feeling something for the heroine for a second..."
"OK I wasn't going to rate this book UNTIL i came here and seen a lot of bad reviews on it. I did not pay for this book, I got it on a free trial for Kindle Unlimited so maybe my opinion will be different because of that.

First of all It's a short 2 hour read, It's very quick, MOST parts are easy to get through. As I'm sure you guessed from the title it's kind of a twist on a real life beauty and the beast story. I have to admit after Dick's first chapter I had the same reaction everyone else did... "WTF is going on ?! Face Abs? This guy is cocky as hell & It's extremely annoying to read so far" I also admit I almost quit reading a few times But luckily for this author MY MOMMA DIDN'T RAISE NO QUITTER! I pushed through and as it went on it didn't exactly get less annoying, but it became easier to read, you started to understand what was going on, and the book became more enjoyable. I found myself rooting for beast and wanting "beauty" to take the time to understand him and for things to work out. Was it my type of book?? No maybe not, If it was any longer would i have stuck it out, Yes most likely but I would have been kicking myself just about the whole way through. I loved the animal part of the story, I am a HUGE animal lover and I love that the caring for animals was a part of this story, I think that is a huge part that makes you change your mind about Dick.

In the end this turned out to be a good book, short but fast read, and sometimes it's good to get out of your comfort zone and take a chance on a story. Glad i did with this one!
AND FOR THE RECORD THE FACE AB, THE ABS ON TOP OF ABS CRAP IS OVER THE TOP YES, BUT IT IS EXPLAINED IN THE END WHAT ALL THAT WAS ABOUT. If you quit reading this book because the author went a little over the top with Beast being the vainest person in the world, You will miss out on a good book!!!"
"Got like one steamy scene but it was so enchanting that I could not put it down! I absolutely love any version of Beauty and the Beast and this was like my first Young adult book! I love it to bits and I would love to read more like this! Highly recommend if you love classic stories with a bit of twists"
"Interesting premise, good writing, not so great editing

A remake of a classic 'dark' fairytale, Faulks came up with an interesting twist, and quite a few scary, creepy scenes. Too many of which I got knocked out of by bad use of, and too heavy reliance on, spellcheck, most likely. Like chocking instead of choking, leaving the word hand out of the sentence describing how the head fell. Really, REALLY needs another editor to take a pass--fresh eyes are truly necessary for that final QC check."
