If you’re at all put off or have triggers with regards to this topic back away because this is one of the most explicit that I’ve read thus far. Set in the competitive work of the NBA, this is a love triangle between Iris, Caleb and August. Lifelong rivals on the court Caleb and August end up crossing their rivalry over to their love for Iris. Happenstance brings Iris and August together and it’s Kismet but not their time as Caleb and Iris have been in a committed relationship for well over a year. This is a slow burn romance. I can guarantee there will be tears, anger, disgust, relief and joy. Highly recommend."

"The writing was very good but most of the book was the story of the domestic violence story. It wasn’t until about 70-80% of the way in that you got to the “main” love story. I think to be better prepared reading it you have to understand it more of a story of a domestic violence survivor, her story and taking her life back afterwards. The author did a wonderful writing and researched and interviewed many women to prep for this book to portray things correctly."
