"If I had to choose a phrase to describe this wonderful read, it would be “Page Turner”. This Suspenseful Historical Fiction takes place years before, during, and after World War II! With three different perspectives that flow like butter the deeper you get into the story!
The dialogue was absolutely great! With wittiness, to make you laugh as well as Emotionally depth phrases to make you react. Coming from such different backgrounds, all of the characters coming together by the end is not only satisfying, but extremely entertaining!!
The story is fast paced, and the mystery was done beautifully. With some minor and major plot twists I wasn’t expecting! The setting, which was constantly changing, was always interesting to read about! Definitely a slow start, but once you get going, you’ll close the book before you know it!
Something I really admired about this book was the deeper meanings that stuck out to me as I flipped each page. By the end I closed the book with a smile on my face. Not sorely because of the satisfying ending, but for the lessons the author was able to portray through the writing! I wasn’t expecting to be moved so deeply!
Kate Quinn is my favorite Historical Fiction author! Her books always keep me guessing and glued to the pages or audiobook! I’d recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading Historical Fiction, but I’d also recommend the Alice Network (another amazing read)✨"
"This book is a long read/ listen. I think it’s worth it though. I listened to the audiobook and it was about 19 hours. The narrator was great. The story was told from different perspectives in different years, both during and after WWII. I loved the pieces of real history the author weaves into her fictional story. There were some words and phrases that seemed not of that time period but that’s a minor complaint. Love the strong female leads especially."
"Kate Quinn does a wonderful job! Great storyline ! Couldn’t put it down."
