"4.5⭐
This book was amazing! It was fun and fast paced, the main and side characters were all soooo lovable, and the ranch setting was simply to-die-for! It was so cozy and comforting! Ada and Weston were such a cute couple! I loved how well they communicated, and how there was no unnecessary third act breakup! There were plenty of fluffy moments, which were adorable, as well as a few spicy ones! I loved Weston! He was a total golden retriever! A soft hearted, swoon worthy cowboy? Somebody sign me up!!! I adored Ada! She may seem cold and unapproachable, but in reality she's just really shy and not super trusting, which are both things I can totally relate to. I loved getting to see her come out of her shell and open up to Wes, as well as watch her become friends with Emmy, Teddy, and Cam! Definitely can't wait to see more of that friend group in the future! I'm a sucker for dogs, so Waylon, Wes’s dog, was such an amazing addition to the book IMO! Also, Loretta!!! 😍 I've raised a plethora of bottle calves, lambs, goat kids, and even some rabbits and kittens, so the addition of a bottle calf was the cherry on top for me! So freaking cute!!! I didn't love how Ada's toxic past relationship was just glossed over, so that part definitely could have been better. Also, Wes’s depression, though it made him a more realistic character, was only mentioned a few times and felt very underdeveloped. If it weren't for those two things this would be a five star read! Cowboy romance, forced proximity, insta lust, slow burn, he falls first, city girl x country boy, black cat x golden retriever, found family, small town/ranch setting, and dual POV! Definitely worth the read! "
"3.5/5 ⭐️ dual pov. This is a quick fun read! I have liked both books in this series so far. Done and Dusted didn't really stick in my memory afterward but they were both good times! This book is fluffy and cute with some deeper subject matter including depression and controlling relationships but they don't go into a lot of depth with any of it and it doesn't weigh the book down. There is nothing wrong with this book it's just not that deep. If you're looking for an enjoyable, quick, cowboy romance this is a great option! 1.5-2/5 spice level. There are a handful of scenes. They aren't super long or memorable but again fun in the moment! "
"** SPOILERS **
There was something about this book that I feel healed certain parts of me. Maybe I’d connected with Ada’s character more than anticipated but I loved it. The way Emmy talked to Ada was something I had been needing. Not to mention the love between Ada and Wes was just, gah. That’s the only way to describe it. She ran and he waited. I mean he WAITED. She’d done what her ex-husband had done…and he waited. If that part didn’t have me bawling like a baby I dont know what would. I also felt like Emmy and Brooks’s love was something I yearned for but this….this topped it. I will also be RUNNING to the next book and I can only hope it was as good as this one (I’ll also for sure be buying this book because I severely need to reread this again and I just finished it not even a minute ago) This makes me believe in love, which sounds pathetic but very much true."
"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 (tentatively)
What can I say about the second Rebel Blue Ranch book… it was good, but I also deeply despised Ada. Some of it was because I saw myself in her - with her insecurity at being liked and not knowing how to talk to people without being awkward (these are not quirky or cute traits and are too real and annoying for me to want to read about). But her flightiness and unwillingness to let go of her past really irked me. Perhaps since I, the reader, knew Weston was not a nefarious f*ckboy as Ada so painfully refused to see made my irritation for her grow. Her back and forth feelings toward Wes, especially towards the end, really ground my gears. I would also like to critique that the romance was more or less “instant love”, at least on Weston’s end (I don’t think this is a spoiler since it’s within the first 20 pages of the book).
But! The other characters were, as always, so lively. I enjoyed the humor and the banter much more than I thought I would, it was wonderfully written.
As I said, the rest of the book was as lovely as the first, but listen. Come closer. Are you listening? I WANT TEDDY AND GUS NOW!!! "
"If you are looking for a perfect western cowboy city girl romance feel book, this is for you! 🤠 The first few chapters of the book are definitely unexpected and attention grabbing situations! "
