"Sometimes, you just find “that book” in your towering pile of TBR novels, and you don’t remember how you even heard about it, but you’re just so grateful that somehow it ended up in front of you. This is how I felt about this book. It was the perfect gothic setting for this time of year, featured my favorite mystery trope of a story within a story and included multiple narrators. It was like this book was written for me. I absolutely loved it, from the mystery (which completely surprised me, but not in an unbelievable way) to the characters, who were entertaining in their own right. I absolutely recommend it as the creepy but not scary read you should pick up in October!"
