"For me when someone described this book as Clue meets Jane Austen I was in, hook, line, and sinker. However, when I actually read it, it was more hook, line, and disappointment. It was an average, middle of the road historical romance novel. Other than her apparent skill at disphyering puzzles and clues, I don’t know what the main heroine is skilled at. I guess it means that she had to meet and fall in love with a spy to discover her value and worth to other people and society. The only exciting part was when she was almost killed by a flower. I also don’t get why the sister of Delia, the main heroine’s best friend, was so set on getting revenge or simply humiliating her. I thought that maybe she was the one who had the secret dalliance in the study, but sadly that storyline did NOT happen as I thought it would. Overall, it’s 👌, not great, but not terrible either."
"What a way to end the series on a bang. I was curious as to what Tessa would do with Charlotte’s story. And she didn’t disappoint. I love Charlotte’s spirit and passion. This book is fun spirited and sexy."
