"This was my first book by Lucy Smoke. I think I might have enjoyed it more had I read the previous four books. To my knowledge this was presented as a duet otherwise I would’ve waited to read the others before this book. I was confused most of the time and I’m guessing that’s because I didn’t have the info regarding the previous characters etc.
I did enjoy the book and I look forward to reading more of this author’s work.

Clover is taken by Braxton in the hopes of finding her brother Ace. I’m assuming whatever Ace did to Avalon was addressed in previous books. There is a generic explanation as to what happened to Avalon, but not exactly why or how.

I didn’t really feel any chemistry between Clover and Braxton but I imagine it will build in the next book. I really liked Clover’s character and I’m intrigued to learn more about these “Sick Boys”.

I would suggest reading the first four books before this one. After the epilogue cliffhanger, I have to know what happens next! I plan to read the others first tho.

ARC REVIEW

3/5⭐️
3/5"
