USA Today Bestseller Welcome to McKee University in this spicy adult sports romance, first in the BookTok sensation Beyond the Play series--with new exclusive content in this edition. Tutoring the star quarterback in exchange for a few fake dates won't lead to anything more... right? James Football is my everything. I live, eat, breathe the sport. But when I transfer to McKee University to escape the distractions that nearly cost me my future in the NFL, I'm faced with another consequence: retake and pass the writing class I failed at my last college or lose any chance I have at making it big. That's where fellow senior Beckett Wood--gorgeous, stubborn, and just my type--comes in. She's the key to my success in this class... but the price of her help is a fake relationship, and I never do things halfway. Bex I don't mess around with athletes--I've already learned that lesson--and at first glance, handsome, self-assured James Callahan is no exception. He wants me to help him pass the writing class we're both stuck taking, but I'm too busy to take on yet another responsibility. But when his teammate--my cheating ex--won't leave me alone, I realize I need to convince him I've moved on... and what better way than by pretending to be with James, who wants nothing to do with a real relationship? Yet with every fake kiss, James pulls me deeper into a place that thrills and terrifies me. Why does he make me feel alive like no one else has? And why don't I want it to end? "I really enjoyed this book! Sports romance and fake dating are two of my favorite things, so this book really hit the spot! Bex was such a sweetheart, and James was a total golden retriever! A protective golden retriever, but a golden retriever nonetheless. They made such a cute couple! Sports romance, fake dating, tutor x student, cinnamon roll MMC, college setting, spicy, and dual POV! Definitely recommend checking this one out if you like fake dating and/or sports romance!"
"Very great read. Loved it. The sports part of this first book could’ve been done a lot better, in terms of the ins and outs of what it’s like to be a DI athlete, but still worth the read, especially if you’re looking for a romance book available on prime reading. Would love to watch it as a movie too. Can’t wait to read the next two!"
"The ending of the book was pretty good, can’t say as much for the rest. The characters weren’t very developed until the last few chapters. The relationship came on to quick. If the book was slower to creating the feelings they had for each other and showed more in depth development I would like it so much more."
"James and Bex…i don’t often read fake dating books but i must say this one was good. i was honestly so hoping they would get together, bex being herself made me think they wouldn’t…then came in the dad and i was like great. it’s over. HOWEVER EVERYTHING WORKED OUT!!! just wish i got more of it. probably will be rated 2/5 or 3/5 we will see in a week"

"really fluffy romance, wasnt a huge fan but needed a lighter read after a bunch of darker romances. MMC is a massive cinnamon roll. Third act breakup made an appearance which is an instant boooo. also the sexy talk make me cringe lol maybe its just me tho"

"The book kept me entertained, but while it tried to cover some sensitive topics, it was all very surface level. I feel like neither of the characters did anything to really made me fall in love with either of them. It had some cute moments, but overall I just felt like the book was very average. It didn’t come alive at any point for me, and I didn’t feel too invested in the outcome. I am going to continue the other books in the series - I’m excited to see what happens with Copper and Sebastian ❤️"
