Karin Slaughter
In the city of Atlanta, women are dying–at the hands of a killer who signs his work with a single, chilling act of mutilation. Leaving behind enough evidence to fuel a frenzied police hunt, this cunning madman is bringing together dozens of lives, crossing the boundaries of wealth and race. And the people who are chasing him must cross those boundaries too. Among them is Michael Ormewood, a veteran detective whose marriage is hanging by a thread–and whose arrogance and explosive temper are threatening his career. And Angie Polaski, a beautiful vice cop who was once Michael’s lover before she became his enemy. But another player has entered the game: a loser ex-con who has stumbled upon the killer’s trail in the most coincidental of ways–someone who may be the key to breaking the case wide open….

"Catching up on some of the Slaughter books I haven't read. This was one of my least favorite of her books but I still liked it a lot. Got to see some of the reasons that Angie acts like Angie. "

"Triptych by Karin Slaughter is a gripping thriller with a strong mystery at its core, following a brutal triple homicide. The complex relationships between Sara, Lena, and Jeffery add emotional depth, and the suspense keeps you engaged. However, the pacing is uneven at times, and some characters feel underdeveloped. While the darker themes are impactful, they may be too intense for some readers. Overall, it’s a solid start to the Grant County series, but it doesn’t fully hit its potential. 3.5 stars."
"Intense, suspenseful, intriguing, and satisfying. Will Trent is a flawed but sympathetic and likeable protagonist. Like the total 180° change in view that happens in the book that will have you thinking of everything from a different lense (you'll know when you get there). If you like murder mysteries with some high stakes... This is for you. "
