A GMA SUMMER MUST-READ! From the bestselling authors of The Knockoff, an outrageously funny novel about one woman's attempt—through clay diets, naked yoga, green juice, and cultish workout classes—to win back her career, save her best friend, and lose thirty pounds."When Janey Sweet … navigates topless yoga and ruthless cycling classes in Lucy Sykes and Jo Piazza's satire, she realizes she’s better off without the green juice."—Us Weekly When Janey Sweet, CEO of a couture wedding gown company, is photographed in the front row of a fashion show eating a bruffin--the delicious love child of a brioche and a muffin--her best friend and business partner gives her an ultimatum: lose thirty pounds or lose your job. Sure, Janey has gained some weight since her divorce, and no, her beautifully cut trousers don't fit like they used to, so Janey throws herself headlong into the world of the fitness revolution, signing up for a shockingly expensive workout pass, baring it all for Free the Nipple yoga, and spinning to the screams of a Lycra-clad instructor with rage issues. As Janey eschews carbs, pays thousands of dollars to wellness gurus, and is harassed by her very own fitness bracelet, she can't help but wonder: Did she really need to lose weight in the first place?

"As someone who hates all the diet fads and fitness insanity, I ended up liking this book more than I thought I would. A parody of a world so insane, the book is almost believable. Just wish the character development was a little better/deeper. Ultimately a fun read."

"I found this novel absolutely hilarious but still totally on point. I definitely have channeled CJ in the past by trying every new fad diet and wasting money on workout passes, not to mention living with a fitness band on my wrist for 4 years. It cracked me up to see Janey going through it all for the first time, and seeing it through her eyes you get a new perspective on how out there and ridiculous some of the fitness world can be. And how unhealthy it can be too if you have unrealistic expectations. The message this novel delivered was ultimately about loving yourself, and it's definitely a message more women (and even men!) need to hear."

"http://www.anurseandabook.com/2017/04/fitness-junkie-by-lucy-sykes-jo-piazza.html<br/>Janey has been in business with her childhood best friend, Beau selling designer wedding dresses. But Janey has gained weight - how much, we never actually know. But the tipping point for Beau is when she is photographed eating at a fashion show.<br/><br/>Beau kicks her out of her own company until she can lose some weight. Janey begins every current fitness craze while trying to figure out her next step.<br/><br/>With time on her hands, she begins meeting cute guys - Jacob, a poor but principled young dad, and an older rich guy who can help return her to her normal social circles.<br/><br/>Janey starts taking some super secret classes from Sara Strong that all the celebrities are lining up for - but the secret tea might be the key to the euphoria everyone feels at the end of class. That was pretty apparent from the beginning so it was less of an epiphany at the end.<br/><br/>This was a really funny book - I also loved their other book, The Knockoff. This is just a really fun read, but it makes you think about the time and money we all spend worrying about our weight.<br/>"
