"I can't wrap my mind around exactly how I feel about this book.

On one hand, I couldn't put it down. I read it in record time and in two sittings. On the other, the content isn't something I would ever have chosen on my own. The writing was solid, I liked the way the story was told.

But it's not a book I could easily recommend, it's not one I'll likely reach for again.
That being said, I would definitely read more by Ashley Audrain.

Honestly, I'm just conflicted on whether or not I actually liked it."
"A very heavy story. Starts out kind of confusing, but once you understand the dynamic of mother/ daughter it’s an easy read. I like the back and forth style of the writing. So much sadness throughout the story. And then it ends abruptly without answers to what happened. I wish there was more to answer the question the ending gives but I guess it is a safe assumption. Can’t help but feel terribly for Violet, and no happy ending. "

"I enjoyed the story line and most of the book, I didn’t like the ending though. It felt unfinished to me, as if too much was left to the imagination of how things ended up for the characters. Still a good read if you don’t mind open ended endings"
