From the author of the “funny, sexy, and absurdly entertaining” (Marie Claire) Playing with Matches, a sweeping love story in the vein of Rebecca Serle and Chloe Benjamin about a woman who knows the date she’ll meet her true love—only he isn’t quite as perfect as she always imagined. What if you knew exactly when you’d meet the love of your life? Edie Meyer knows. When her Grandma Gloria was a young woman, she had a vision of the exact day she would meet her soul mate—and then Grandpa Ray showed up. Since then, Gloria has accurately predicted the day every single member of the family has met their match. Edie’s day arrives on June 24, 2022, when she’s twenty-nine years old. She has been waiting for it half her life. That morning, she boards an airplane to her twin sister’s surprise engagement, and when a handsome musician sits beside her, she knows it’s meant to be. But fate comes with more complications than Edie expected and she can’t fight the nagging suspicion that her perfect guy doesn’t have perfect timing. After a tragedy and a shocking revelation rock Edie’s carefully constructed world, she’s forced to consider whether love chooses us, as simple as destiny, or if we choose it ourselves.

"Meant to be Mine was a unique concept that immediately drew me in. The matriarch of the family was a matchmaker of sorts, as she was able to predict her family members exact date they would meet their soulmate.

She had never been wrong and Edie Myers date was finally here and she couldn’t wait to see who Mr. Right could be, alas she meets the one she knows is right for her.

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the book because I found the authors insistent need to push politics to the forefront was a mood breaker. Especially, especially when she stereotyped the characters into a sweet bundle and sorry I can’t stand when an author blatantly stereotypes any minority group.

Maybe you can look past the politics and see nothing but the romance backdrop and if so I say grab this book."
"Honestly, I didn’t like the book. It was alright. The whole idea of the book was generic and I predicted what was going to happen not even halfway through the book. On a side note, this book was a quick read and although it was predictable I still read the whole book in two sittings. It’s a quick easy read for anyone looking for a cute love story and YA book. Overall 2/5 stars."
"What if you knew the exact date you’d be meeting your soulmate? I would be waiting so impatiently for the day to come. Yes that’s what happened to Edie. June 24th is approaching fast and she’s waited for this day since her grandma Gloria told her.
A wonderful whirlwind of a story, that will keep you page turning, making you need to know more! You’ll finish in one sitting, and you’ll be so happy with THAT ENDING.
My heart is whole, and I know this story will stay with me for a long while! LOVED!"
"June 24, 2022 is going to be an epic day in the life of Edie Meyer. According to the family prophecy, it will be the day she meets her future husband.

Hannah Orenstein has written a tale of love, the belief in fate, and knowing when to look that fate in the eye and say ‘no thank you.’ No spoilers here, but I will say that some of the plot points felt forced/unnecessary and a couple of the supporting cast seemed to hang around too long in the characters’ minds."
