The Fox Inheritance

"I think this was even more emotional than the first! While part of the same world, this book and the first are miles apart. I really loved hearing the novel from Locke's perspective. I felt for him. Felt his uncertainty, his fear, his desperation. The Fox Inheritance just as creepy, thrilling and heart pounding as the first! I was pretty much on edge after the second part of the story. <br/><br/>This was in three sections. The first built up the story in a very crucial way that laid the foundation for the rest of the book. But after it ended and the rest began, I was hooked as the intensity of the book increased dramatically. I loved that nothing was as it seemed in this book. From the beginning, I ended up questioning everything and wondering what was real and what wasn't, right along with Locke. I really enjoyed that about the book, it made for such a great read.<br/><br/>This was darker than the first. It didn't start off that way, but over half way through, the story started to play out and it got increasingly darker. This definitely had more action than the first and we see a lot of internal struggles for Locke. But I wasn't quite as satisfied with the ending with this one as the first. I had hoped that a few things would be resolved. I have no idea if there will be more to come with this series, but Mary Pearson has definitely left it open to where we might see more.<br/><br/>I got this as an audiobook and I loved the reader. Matthew Brown captivated while he read The Fox Inheritance. I could hear the emotion in his voice, I could distinguish between characters easily and he was able to bring some of the creepy feeling when things were starting to go a little darker. I really enjoyed his story telling while listening to this book."
