"This trilogy was excellent! I enjoyed book 1 and 2 more than 3. Has a little romance with slow burn, sword fighting, samurais, adventure, and lots of Japanese mythology. It's both playful and a little dark -- a good balance of both. "

"I loved this book. I HIGHLY recommend listening to it on audiobook. The three different narrators read the different points of view so well. Yumeko was a fun and sweet character and made me laugh out loud numerous times in such a lighthearted way because of her lack of experience outside the temple she grew up in.

Really, the character of Yumeko was the highlight of the book and made me enjoy every scene. This was the beginning of an epic adventure filled with other characters with distinct personalities that all brought something different to the story of the plot. Magic, mythical creatures like demons, kitsune (fox spirits), a dragon, powerful blood sorcerers. Set in Japan, using actual Japanese terminology so I got to learn as I had fun reading this!"
"If you like anime or Japanese folklore this is a great book. Three different pov throughout the story, unique characters, varied Japanese folklore and supernatural and good world building. The narrators aren’t the best but not bad in audio form. "
