"Another great Tik Tok find, read the blurb, all the reviews, and one-clicked it. This book is something I knew I would love and it’s not for everyone. To some it may be too dark, for me, it’s not dark enough. The sex scenes, some may find dark, are in great detail and holy hell is it steamy. The scenes are intense. The rest of the dark parts didn’t seem so much in the same manner. Just needed a little more detail. On my dark scale, it's a dark gray.

X. A trained assassin is hired to murder Jay, he couldn’t go through with it, takes her captive, and betrays the company he is working for. At the moment she is safe with the X who can keep her alive, but she has some fight with her. So sneaky. Jay only remembers the last 7 years of her life, some bits and pieces before then. Jay is a stripper, drug addict, and sometimes a hooker. She has no clue who would want her dead.

From the beginning, I knew there was a lot of pain and complicated history between X and Jay. I instantly felt their pain, but more of X’s pain than hers. I was on his side from the beginning, He may be a monster and you are going to be ****** at him, but he does have a heart. They are both complex characters. These two take you on one hell of a journey of love, hate, and betrayal. They may have left some havoc along the way.

My mistake was loving her. Her mistake was inviting me in. We both should have known better than to play with fire. And now the burning never stops.

MR. X wrecked me in the best possible way and what a book hangover. The ending is outside the normal and gives you an open ending. I absolutely loved it and reread the epilogue several times. I just didn’t want the book to end. I savored every single page. My concern is there was some repetition. But not enough to take away from the book."
