I’m wanting to read Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan! I watched the movie and I loved it but I’m wondering if the book is as good? What’s everyone’s thoughts?

I don't know if I just wasn't connecting to the story or what but I didn't like this one from Mona Awad...Which hurts to say because this was my most anticipated release of 2023 and Bunny and All's Well are all-time favorites of mine. The Mona Awad magic was there, I loved the commentary on beauty and the unsettling, AHS-like atmosphere but that was about it. It just felt kinda boring, disjointed and got repetitive after awhile...Am I alone here? I'm curious to know everyone's thoughts.

@ those who have Kindles: Is it worth it vs The Kindle app? I have KU but I'm currently just using the kindle app on my phone. I've been contemplating getting an actual Kindle but don't know if I should. Are there things kindles can do that the app itself can't? Convince me!

I recently finished this book and it's brilliant. I have so many thoughts, let's discuss all the things! The footnotes, the main character's, the different POVs, everything.

What's one emotion you don't want to feel when reading a book? For me, it's anger, unfortunately. While I think it's the telling of a good writer to be able to cause such a strong emotion, I can't bear to read books with serious topics because of how angry it makes me feel.

How many of you plan what book you’re going to read for vacations/holidays so it matches the vibe? Like maybe if you’re travelling you’ll get a book that’s set in that particular place, or has a similar landscape, or if it’s Christmas you’ll read books set on or around Christmas time? I want to do this way more often because I enjoy it, how do you do it if you do!

Does anyone use the Aardvark Bookclub book subscription service? If so what do you think of it? I've been unimpressed with BOTM's selection as of late and wanna try another service.
