Writers, Authors, or anyone, what is the best writing advice you have ever gotten? I'm attempting to write a book, and everything I write seems bland, and I am losing motivation! Help!

Genevieve (she/her) 🏳️🌈📚 Some of the best writing advice I’ve ever gotten was from a playwriting professor, but it’s applicable to lots of different forms of writing, I think. The first draft or two, you’re essentially telling YOURSELF the story. You’re kind of creating scaffolding for what the story will actually become. Meaning, don’t worry if it’s not perfect or messy or doesn’t make perfect sense or needs work-that’s what editing & subsequent drafts are for! But before you can tell the story to anyone else, you have to tell it to yourself.
