"Feels like a throwback to an older era of films, like one of those salacious pre-Hays Code releases, but presented here with the 80s steam of a late night Cinemax romp. Screenwriter-turned-director Lawrence Kasdan shows he has an eye for visuals as good as his ear for dialogue. That opening shot of Racine watching out his window as a part of his city, and his past, goes up in flames makes this film visually compelling from the get-go, and the script chugs along with plenty of snappy banter regardless of who's in the scene. There are good performances from everyone and Kasdan keeps some tricks up his sleeve right until the last minute. Body Heat has a jazzy moody piano musical score that's just right for noir. William Hurt has a mustache that simply has to be seen to be believed. I do think a lot of the actions in this movie are idiotic, but that's classic noir for you. This is such a throwback noir: so grimy; so gritty; so dirty. So dámn sweaty! I really like this flick, a lot."
"An older film a good film."

"You may already know that this is a modern nod to the classic 40's and 50's Noir classics. If not, then you should definitely check them out. "
