"It’s been ten years since I’ve seen this #feelgood documentary, but it’s so #memorable & one that has always stuck with me — I’m glad I got to see it on a big screen, because it felt like I was right there watching all these backup singers and rock stars in concert — very #entertaining — not to mention#educational — you’ll learn so much from watching. If you are passionate about #music, I highly recommend this.
Some of my favorite parts were: getting to see footage or clips of the Talking Heads & David Bowie in concert…. The segments of Luther Vandross & Sheryl Crow… and **THE MOST MEMORABLE** part of this film, for me, was Merry Clayton’s account of her audition for a song by The Rolling Stones that turned out to be “Gimme Shelter” — first of all, because I never knew exactly what she was saying (singing … the lyrics) in the refrain: “rape, murder, it’s just a shot away” 😳😬 (I honestly never knew) — and secondly, because she absolutely (in her own words): “blew everyone out of the room” with her rendition … (or something to that effect).
It was great to see these ladies honored in such an enjoyable music #documentary. 👍🏾👍🏾 🎶
