"I watched this delightful fairy tale on Prime video for free. (through FreeVee) It is a light-hearted, sweet and gentle movie, very family-friendly. It is about a young woman who is sent to King Louis XIV, the Sun ☀️ King's court, and it takes place at Versailles. He has absolutely everything, but still wants more. The young woman tries to find her freedom and identity in new surroundings. I liked the plot because it has a contemporary feel, just like the films The secret of Moonacre, the recent Robin Hood movie with Taron Edgerton, and A Knight's Tale. The only thing that was annoying was Pierce Brosnan's long hair. Just get over it, and enjoy this fun fantasy! 😂"

"A nice fantasy romance, with love and mystery of a mermaid. Though it does change the plot from the book in one major point for a character. It is worth watching!"

"I checked out the movie at my library. I can’t tell if I like it. I sometimes cringed at the script 😝 lol. It also felt like they were running out of time to expand the story. I wish it was a bit longer. The only confusing part of the film was the costumes and the music they decided on. At times well I’m not a historian the costumes didn’t feel right to the time period. And the music specially at the end seemed a bit off, I would have felt an instrumental instead would havefitbetter"

"On Freevee. Easy family movie. Definitely not to period. Makeup and costumes were low budget. Had an ok plot. Ending was honorable. Female lead was strong, which saved the overall movie. "
