"A little seen neo-noir about a shady American businessman (Tommy Lee Jones) trying to force out a local Newcastle jazz club owner (Sting) . A young couple (Sean Bean and Melanie Griffith) get caught up in the middle of the conflict. This is Mike Figgis’ (Leaving Las Vegas) first feature and it feels a little under developed in parts. However the lived-in setting, the free form jazz score and Roger Deakins’ cinematography give the film a unique feel and make it worth a watch.
