"This is one of the most powerfully written films that I have seen Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy act in together. The writing is incredibly intelligent and emotional, and the acting is excellent and dramatic. The story is about Steven O'Malley, Spencer Tracy's character, a well respected writer, who visits Katherine Hepburn's character, Christine Forrest, the widow of a very beloved politician, just after his death. He wants to write a story about Mr. Forrest that will do his legacy justice. However, what starts as the seemingly bland story of a dead politician eventually becomes more appealing and sinister. As Steven gathers more facts from family members, he finds a more complicated person than Mr. Forrest's public image led him to believe. Although the storyline starts slowly, it still grabs your attention. The pace eventually picks up speed, and becomes very engaging. I really enjoy seeing Tracy and Hepburn act together, and after seeing this wonderful film, I am even more impressed at their dramatic acting pedigree."
