"A wonderful, wholesome movie. Even the sleazy Van Dyke turns out ok in the end. Ronny Howard is beyond adorable as Eddie. It's so interesting how Shirley Jones ended up playing in a '70s sitcom, The Partridge Family, and little Ronny Howard ended up on another '70s sitcom, Happy Days. They were also in The Music Man together and I believe both of them were on separate episodes of Love, American Style, as were many well-known actors from the '60s and early '70s. Such a great time in history!
I never saw this movie before until last night but I did use to watch the tv show when I was a kid. I'm rewatching that series now, as well. Brandon Cruz, who plays little Eddie on the tv show, was also so sweet and precious. Bill Bixby is so handsome. But I guess I should save that for my review of the show.
Anyway, this is a cute and sweet movie and I highly recommend it."
