When a massive, unmanned locomotive roars out of control, the threat is more ominous than just a derailment. The train is laden with toxic chemicals, and an accident would decimate human life and cause an environmental disaster. The only hope of bringing the train to a safe stop is in the hands of veteran engineer Frank Barnes, and young conductor Will Colson, who must risk their lives to save those in the runaway's path. Inspired by true events.

"I have seen this movie many times over the years, and it always delivers every time. A super entertaining film that still manages to thrill and leave the viewer in suspense no matter how many times you see it. Denzel Washington and Chris Pine are an incredible pairing, with their performances playing a major role in making the movie work, along with phenomenal editing and sound work. This was one incredible note to end a career on for the film’s director (Tony Scott), who sadly passed away not long after this film’s release. The late Tony Scott’s collaborations with Denzel Washington deserve to be talked about more in terms of successful actor-director collaborations across multiple films."
