"I'm so disappointed in this 2018 remake of Overboard. The movie tries to recreate the charm of the original, but it miserably falls flat. I hate the way they swapped the gender roles - it just doesn't work. Anna Faris had big shoes to fill and she just didn’t portray the charming comedic style of Goldie Hawn. I’m a fan of Anna Faris in the tv series Mom, which is actually one of my favorite sitcoms. In this role she comes off just plain goofy. I loved the original Overboard, and this remake just can't compare. There's a reason the original is a cult classic. The casting for the main roles was terrible. I hated the male lead. There wasn’t an ounce of chemistry between these two. The relationship felt odd and very forced. The supporting cast was the best part of the remake I think. Aside from a couple tender moments with the kids, this one is just a big fat no. I think I’m being generous with my rating because I really disliked this. If you’re a fan of the original cult classic, you might want to skip this one. It’s very hard not to compare the two."
