"Well I never knew this movie was based of the same book as The Haunting of Bly Manor. With that being said in comparison to the show this wasn’t that good. But I guess if you want to see another version it’s worth one watch."

"So, first of all, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ENDING?!?! Seriously!!! The rest of this movie was just a cliche “spooky, scary movie” where, for more than half the running time, NOTHING happens. I’m not an idiot, I get what a slow burn is, but this movie is more like cooking chicken nuggets in the oven and then realizing you forgot to turn on the oven after 10 minutes. The kids are great actors—that is, they’re portrayed by great child actors but the characters suck (Finn Wolfhard is a massive dick and just there to give future serial killer vibes, and Brooklyn Prince is mostly harmless) but it feels like we’re only ever told maybe half or even a third of a story. When Kate tries to drive them into town, Flora starts freaking out like they’re driving straight into a volcano; literally never mentioned or explained once. The older caretaker keeps insisting that Kate just leave things alone and even brushes off Miles nearly killing someone at his prep school and being expelled for it; literally never learn what her deal is or why she refuses to say or do anything. Halfway through it just DECIDES “Oh, now it’s a ghost story!”, and I can’t stress enough how forced in it feels. Something tells me the original Turning of the Screw was at least consistent or maybe explained things better, but they had a perfectly fine climax…up until they just randomly decide—I honestly can’t tell you if it’s supposed to imply she’s dead, crazy, or both, but it feels like they fired the director halfway through and just decided to rewrite a whole new movie around it, like when you record over part of a videotape and suddenly it switches to the original footage that was there. It’s not the worst horror movie I’ve ever seen, but it feels the most half-baked. "
"On the fence about this one, it was really good until the end. Going to try to find a copy of the original version, The Innocents (1961), as I've heard it's ending is more like what the viewers deserve. Also going to watch The Haunting of Bly Manor, as it's another movie based on the same book The Turn of the Screw. "
"After about 60 mins in I wanted to see its rating. & noticed it had really low review scores. I was surprised because I thought the film was doing ok. Well, the last 5 mins ruined the entire thing. Just imagine watching a halfway decent film & then the last 5 mins it decides it wants to be a David Lynch film. You can’t have both. I understand what they were trying to do at the end. But it was poorly executed. Do not waste your time on this film."
"A little scary but it’s so amazing and Finn wolfhard is my favorite actor so it made me more excited "
