"This is a bizarre but interesting film that happens to be written and directed by Fred Durst (of Limp Bizkit fame). John Travolta plays a character named Moose, who is obviously on the spectrum. He does a fabulous job in this role. Moose is funny and endearing, but obsessed with Hollywood and one actor in particular, Hunter Dunbar, played by Devon Sawa. What I don't understand is why Moose needed to have a ridiculous haircut to convey that he is special needs? There are a few plot holes and unrealistic reactions sprinkled throughout the film, but it was still a somewhat interesting watch. I don't think it's as bad as most of the reviews that I've read say it is. 7/10"
"Cringy... Yikes! An interesting type of role for John Travolta. I've seen him in villain parts in other movies, but this is a different type of bad character from what I'm used to seeing him play. He must be a good actor because if I actually crossed paths with him in person, I'd be SURE to run FAR, FAR, FAR, FAR, FARRRRRRRRRR away as I'm now CONVINCED he's really like this person IRL!!! I noted the clever twist. Thanks to @FilmFan for the rec! I enjoyed! "
"I liked this movie although it didnβt get good reviews- maybe because the tone of the movie was a little odd? There was a good twist at the end and I thought Travoltaβs performance was spectacular. It showed that he is a top notch actor and able to play just about any role as this was a very different part for him."
