"The demi-god, Nezha, must face his misdeeds against others in this world of survival in which water is the source of wealth, and four strong families who want to own it all. The animation is fantastic, and the tone of the storyline is revenge, redemption, and power. (There is a post credits scene.) Mandarin audio."
"Animated fantasy/action tale about the ancient Chinese gods and deities. It took me a while to get used to the role playing video game aesthetic, but the story was really interesting and the action exciting. Fantasy violence, bloodless and restrained, was still effective and makes it more kid friendly without losing its edge. Heroes to root for with positive messaging throughout. "
"Getting a lot of Buddhist inspired anime coming my way lately. I really love seeing all the hindu beings come to life. This is a similar style to green snake but the story was better done. (The villain was a bit contrived. He made all these problems then blamed it on the hero, so that didn't really make sense).
Great detail in the art and some really good emotional moments."
"I’m not gonna say it was groundbreaking - the characters were flat, the plot has been seen before, and the backstory felt incomplete - but i’m really glad i watched. The MC isn’t obnoxious like similarly coded protagonists, and the ending was gorgeous. Its a worthwhile semi-mindless animated action film."
