The Old Way

"Nicolas Cage is an accomplished enough actor to pull off just about any role you throw at him with enough finesse to be convincing. So it's no surprise that Cage does a good job as a hardened cowboy. But the real star of this movie for me was Ryan Kiera Armstrong, who plays his daughter. She's one to watch in the future. The movie was pretty average as westerns go, but I was entertained even though it had more of a Little House on the Prairie feel to it than a gritty western. Everything seemed a little too clean for the old west. But I'll give a 6.5/10"

I expected it to be the same-old “grumpy father protecting their kid” trope (ex. The Witcher, Logan, The Last of Us), but it was different somehow. Overall, it was a decent watch."
