Years ago, the fearsome Pirate King, Gol D. Roger was executed leaving a huge pile of treasure and the famous "One Piece" behind. Whoever claims the "One Piece" will be named the new King of the Pirates.
Monkey D. Luffy, a boy who consumed a "Devil Fruit," decides to follow in the footsteps of his idol, the pirate Shanks, and find the One Piece. It helps, of course, that his body has the properties of rubber and that he's surrounded by a bevy of skilled fighters and thieves to help him along the way.
Luffy will do anything to get the One Piece and become King of the Pirates!

"I think there’s a fan edit you can find somewhere on the net. You know being a pirate and all. If the episode count is daunting just read the manga and watch certain parts. Some episodes are bad due to the pace and varying degrees of animation quality but this is gonna be a overall masterpiece once it’s finished. Get over the art style and most likely you’ll find something you like. "
"Someone else left a review saying this show is too repetitive and if I had to sun up this show up, I’d sum it up that way too! Now tbf a lot anime shows are repetitive but definitely not all of them have done that for thousands of episodes, which is just insane. If you can get past the repetitiveness of this show then I’m sure you’ll definitely find it entertaining. "
"Way too repetitive for the first 425 episodes (yes, I made it to 425 episodes and gave up on watching it because of how easily I could guess the plot). I would’ve stopped watching it sooner if I didn’t care about what my ex enjoyed (yes, I only watched it because my ex said it was good). Anyway, I think I’ve fully given up on it."
